Weinan
Fuping Fire Brigade received a telephone call from the boy's mother for
help saying that her son had an accident in the playground of Chengguan
Town Centre plaza.
After receiving the call, the fire brigade immediately rushed to the site.
The
boy had leg pain and was crying. His right leg was stuck in the fitness
equipment with his leg caught between two metal tubes. The spacing in
between the two tubes was only four inches.
They
decided after observation to use a dilator to expand the steel pipe.
However it wasn't successful so they eventually used a cutting tool to
free the child.
In the footage, released by China Central Television Station, the mother can be seen holding her child as he cries.
Firefighters
are on the scene working to try and expand the metal tubes. They can be
seen shaking their heads and gesturing as they realise that the
equipment will not expand.
They can then be seen with a cutting tool to slice through the metal.
One firefighter takes off his jacket and puts it over the child to protect him from the flying sparks.
Eventually
the child is freed. The rescue attempt took several hours and it was
around six in the evening before his leg was finally released.
According to reports, the child was fortunate to not have broken any bones. Watch Video Here
