Businessman says he’ll pay fines for women ordered take burkinis off

Businessman says he'll pay fines for women ordered take burkinis off by police

This is the moment that a group of police ordered a Muslim woman to remove her burkini while she slept on a beach in France. Armed with guns, batons and pepper spray they approach the sleeping woman in front of other people on the beach and ask her to remove it.

She sits up and looks at police before eventually removing the light blue garment.
She’s then appears to be given a fine of £32 before she’s allowed to lie back down and go to sleep.
The incident happened on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, not far from where the Bastille Day lorry attack happened.

The woman, identified as Siam, a former air hostess from Toulouse, said: ‘I wasn’t even planning to swim, just to dip my feet.
However, a businessman of Algerian descent says he will pay the penalties that women incur for wearing burkinis.
He told CNN: ‘I decided to pay for all the fines of women who wear the burkini in order to guarantee their freedom of wearing these clothes, and most of all, to neutralize the application on the ground of this oppressive and unfair law.’
