Chelsea’s Antonio Conte eyeing late transfer moves for Romelu Lukaku and Kalidou Koulibaly

Chelsea could make a late splash in the transfer market this summer, with Romelu Lukaku and Kalidou Koulibaly said to be prime targets for Antonio Conte.

The Blues have had a relatively quiet summer so far, bringing in only Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante to strengthen a side that endured a nightmare campaign last season.

Chelsea only finished 10th in the Premier League, and Conte hopes to spend big late on in the transfer window with additions up front and in defence.
According to the Daily Express, Chelsea have struggled to progress in initial efforts to land either Lukaku or Koulibaly, but could be ready to try again with big-money offers.

Lukaku was left out of Everton’s squad against Tottenham this afternoon with an injury problem, but Toffees manager Ronald Koeman suggested earlier this week that he cannot guarantee he’ll be able to keep the Belgian.
If Chelsea cannot land Lukaku, it is claimed that they have Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi in mind as a backup option.
Koulibaly, meanwhile, is said to be eager to complete the move from Naples to Stamford Bridge despite his club holding firm over keeping him
